The following general terms and conditions apply to the services of De Noodzaak counseling:
Anne Reijers (owner of Noodzaak and hereinafter referred to as “the counselor”) is a certified NFG therapist and NAP Koepel therapist. Noodzaak counseling complies with the Wkkgz (Health Care Act) and is affiliated with CAMCoop’s Complaints and Disputes Procedure through the NFG.
Dedication
As a client of De Noodzaak counseling, you can count on the counselor to do their utmost to make the process a success. Dedication is also expected of the client (a commitment to 100% commitment). To ensure the necessary bond of trust, both counselor and client will exercise due care towards each other.
Liability
This type of care is less suitable for people with psychiatric disorders, addictions, or a tendency toward self-destructive behavior. In such cases, contact your GP and, if necessary, ask for a referral to a psychologist or psychiatrist. The counselor assumes no responsibility for people who enter counseling under these circumstances. If in doubt, ask a psychologist or psychiatrist for a diagnosis.
Ethical code
A counselor is subject to the Code of Ethics for Counselors. Naturally, De Noodzaak counseling also adheres to this code. The code broadly encompasses six important core values, with the main rule being: Always act in the best interest of your client.
Responsibility
During the process, the counselor must do everything possible to ensure the client’s safety. Counseling is a form of care. Exploitation, in any form, is never permitted. Regardless of the setting or the counseling fee, the counselor must always work according to the highest ethical standards.
Anti-discrimination rules
The counselor should be aware of any prejudices and stereotypical beliefs they may hold. The counselor should ensure that they maintain anti-discriminatory attitudes and behavior.
Confidentiality
The counselor must maintain the highest level of confidentiality, respecting their client’s privacy. This helps the counselor build the trust necessary for counseling and therapy.
Contracts
The counselor must inform their client in advance of the terms and conditions under which they offer counseling. Any changes to these terms and conditions must be agreed upon in advance with the client.
Boundaries
During and around the counseling relationship, the counselor must set and maintain clear boundaries. They should always consider the effects of overlapping, duplicate, and/or existing relationships.
Competence
The counselor must do everything possible to monitor the quality of their work, improve their own competencies, and always work within the limits of their competence. The counselor must regularly utilize appropriate supervision and/or peer supervision.
